The economic and financial crisis and the measures needed to stabilise the world economy are the central issues on the agenda for the meeting of the seven major countries’ finance ministers plus Russia’s, who will be involved in a number of working sessions. The economic affairs ministers will be accompanied by their respective central bank governors. Some of the meetings making up the summit, which is to be held in Rome from 13 to 14 February, will also be attended by the European economic and monetary affairs commissioner, the Eurogroup president, the president of the European Central Bank, the director of the International Monetary Fund, the president of the World Bank and the president of the Financial Stability Forum. The event will open with a working dinner at Villa Madama, the Renaissance mansion on the slopes of Monte Mario used by the Italian Foreign Ministry for entertaining.
