02/03/2009  Libyan leader Mu'ammar al-Qadhafi is due to make his maiden trip to Italy, in his capacity as chairman of the African Union, in order to take part in the G8 working sessions on the third day of the Summit, when the leaders of the main African countries and of the African Union have been invited to attend.

12/02/2009  The G8's first ministerial session is to get under way in Rome tomorrow. The Finance Ministers and Central Bank directors of the G7 Countries (Canada, France, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States) will be joined by their counterparts from the Russian Federation for certain specific sessions. Their talks are going to focus on the financial and economic crisis, and on the action required to stabilise the global economy.
