The logo video opens with the European Union symbol of yellow stars against a blue background. A tricolour streamer cuts through it, fading into the logo of the Italian prime Minister’s Office accompanied by background music.
The introductory page is followed by the G8 logo animation: a strip of blue sea out of which the continents emerge then dive back into the water, turning into turtles. The sound of lapping waves is heard. The four turtles wallow in crystal-clear water, eventually forming a group inside a globe, their silhouettes suggesting the continents. A circular banner reading “G8 Summit 2009 La Maddalena” appears around the turtles. The final frame pulses to the rhythmic sound of a hearbeat.
