Addressing the G7 Finance Ministers' and Central Bank Governors' Meeting, Italian Economy Minister Giulio Tremonti highlighted the importance of a new synergy between the legal and economic systems. This, because as the minister pointed out, an asymmetry came into being between the two systems with the advent of globalisation and proceeded to wreak havoc. The fragmentation of the legal apparatus is one of the concomitant causes behind the current economic chaos. A preliminary project for repairing the links between jurisdiction and the global market structure will be examined in the course of the G8 Summit on the island of La Maddalena.
